Seat belt stops

The buckle for the seat belt usually sits high up so that it is easy to grab when you get in the car. If it is trailing towards the bottom of the belt then you've lost a belt stop.

Look along the belt, you will see an impression where the stop used to be:

You can order new stops online for about £1 each. They will come in two sections:

Before you fit the stop, remember to slide the buckle up towards the top of the belt. Then press the spiked section through the hole in the belt.

Slide the top bit over the spike.

Now crush the spike. You can get special tools to do this neatly but we found a pair of grips did the same job. If you want to tidy up the result, use a soldering iron to gently melt the end of the spike.

The buckle will now sit where it should.
