The standard piece of black trim pictured here is available from smart in a variety of different colours, you could even colour code it yourself. The car below was fitted up with a carbon effect piece manufactured by tuner Lorinser.

To remove the old piece of trim the gear knob needs to be removed, to do this hold it firmly (do not press the auto button or you will break it) and pull it towards the sky, some strength maybe required but it is only clipped on.

Lever the old piece of trim off the centre tunnel from the front using a small flat blade screwdriver.

Install the new trim on in reverse, ensuring all of the clips are lined up before pressing down. It is very easy to break the securing clips so be careful.

Re-install the gear knob, sit back and admire a shiny new piece of decorative trim.
